Jon Rannells has wanted to make movies for a lonnnnnnnnnng time. He just went about it in a rather circuitous way. After shooting a couple of promos and toying with a documentary in the past couple years, it just became time to take the plunge. Jon got his start in comedy, touring North America as a stand-up. Turning to acting, Jon became a regular on numerous television series including P.R,and Power Play, for which he was nominated for a prestigious Gemini Award for his role as Todd Maplethorpe. In total Jon Rannells has had more then seventy appearances on television and film. As a writer Jon is a prize-winning playwright whose plays have been performed around the world and translated into several languages. Described by Evan Solomon of CBC as, “…a brilliant writer, raw and whip smart.”As a screenwriter living in Los Angeles the last several years, Jon has had several properties optioned, but after the amazing experience with ‘Ruby Booby’ - he can’t wait to make another one!
Anneli is an award-winning and GENIE nominated producer. She’s worked with such esteemed companies as Anagram Pictures, Red Storm Productions, The Canadian Film Centre and she is a graduate of CFC’s Producer’s Lab and NSI’s Features First Program. She has 7 successful short films under her belt including the multiple award winning and GENIE nominated BIG GIRL, and award winners NINTH STREET CHRONICLES, BURGEON AND FADE and LOVING LORETTA. Her films have all screened worldwide in festivals and on television. Her company Sabeth Productions is currently developing 2 feature films and exploring new media and television opportunities. Most recently Anneli produced the web series SETH ON SURVIVAL in partnership with CFC’s TV Pilot Program.
